Hotel Marketing in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas area had 150,300 hotel rooms in 2025 and an occupancy rate of 80.3 percent, by LVCVA count, with weekends running far fuller than midweek. We help hotels and independent properties across the valley book more rooms direct, through quick-loading sites built around the booking engine, paid search and metasearch, and guest email and CRM that bring visitors back, so less of each stay goes to third-party commissions.
The numbers behind a Las Vegas room night
Weekday gaps, weekend peaks
LVCVA figures for 2025 show occupancy at 88.8 percent on weekends but 76.6 percent midweek, and visitor volume of 38,545,700, down 7.5 percent from 2024's 41,676,300. Convention attendance held near six million in both years. For many hotels, filling Sunday through Thursday is the main job, and convention calendars, business travel and drive-in packages are the levers.
Guests book online, weeks out
In the LVCVA's 2025 visitor profile, online channels handled 81 percent of hotel bookings and calls to the property 12 percent, and more than half of guests reserved over a month out. Sixty-two percent of guests paid a regular rate, and the Strip Corridor housed 69 percent of overnight guests. Off-Strip and Downtown properties need search and metasearch visibility early in that booking window.
Competing with casino resorts
County Business Patterns counted 97 casino hotels in Clark County in 2023, 34 of which employed 1,000 people or more, alongside 197 hotels and motels without casinos. The LVCVA's convention center, 4.6 million square feet, sits a short distance from 150,000 hotel rooms. Independent and non-gaming properties compete on location, value and experience, and their websites have to make that case quickly.
Direct booking pressures in Las Vegas
Dependence on travel sites
Online travel agencies bring volume but take a cut of every stay. A fast site with a clear booking engine, matching rates and member perks pulls more reservations direct.
Midweek vacancies
With midweek occupancy below weekend levels, packages aimed at convention groups, drive-in visitors coming up Interstate 15 from California, and local staycations help fill the gap.
Return guests worth chasing
Only one in ten 2025 visitors was on a first trip, by LVCVA count. Guest email lists, loyalty offers and past-guest retargeting can win the next stay without an online travel agency in the middle.

Questions and answers
Make booking direct easier and more rewarding than booking elsewhere: a fast mobile site with a clear booking engine, rates that match the online travel agencies, perks for booking direct, and Google Hotel Ads so your own site appears beside the third parties. Most guests already reserve online; the question is whose site they use.
Most book well ahead. Among 2025 hotel guests in the LVCVA's survey, 56 percent reserved more than a month out, a third booked one week to one month before, and 11 percent waited until the final week. Campaigns should run across that whole window, with last-minute offers aimed at the late bookers.
Yes. Convention attendance in the Las Vegas area stayed just under six million in both 2024 and 2025, per the LVCVA. Landing pages for major shows, group block booking forms and paid search on show names put your property in front of attendees, exhibitors and planners.
