Manufacturing & Technology Marketing in Columbus
Two projects are reshaping Central Ohio industry: Intel's chip campus rising in New Albany and the EV hub Honda is building across its Ohio plants. Commerce Media Group helps the manufacturers and industrial suppliers around them get specified, with spec-rich websites, LinkedIn and search campaigns that reach engineers and buyers, and a CRM built for quotes that can sit open for a whole budget cycle.
Central Ohio's manufacturing base
Chips in New Albany
Intel picked the Licking County portion of the New Albany International Business Park for two semiconductor plants in January 2022, and its plans now call for more than $28 billion in investment. In a February 2025 update, Intel said it expects to finish construction of the first fab in 2030 and the second in 2031. Suppliers hoping for that work need to be easy to find well before then.
Autos to the northwest
Honda reports more than 12,000 associates supporting its Ohio manufacturing across five plants, including the Marysville Auto Plant in Union County, established in November 1982 and the source of more than 11 million Accords. Union County alone counted 55 manufacturing establishments employing 7,426 people in 2023.
The broader base
County Business Patterns place 1,390 factories and other production sites across the Columbus metro in 2023, staffed by 73,869 people, with 789 of those sites in Franklin County and 163 in Licking County. Preliminary BLS data put metro manufacturing payrolls at about 77,000 in September 2026, essentially flat over the year.
What Columbus manufacturers face
Buyers who research quietly
An engineer may read your capability page a dozen times before filling out an RFQ. Specifics such as materials, tolerances and certifications earn that eventual contact.
Competing for skilled workers
With metro unemployment at 3.3 percent in September 2026, recruiting is part of marketing. Career pages and targeted job ads help fill second shifts and skilled roles.
New projects, new buyers
Intel's New Albany campus and Honda's Ohio EV work create purchasing teams that did not exist a few years ago. Clear positioning helps local firms stand out when those buyers start searching.

Yes. Licking, Union, Delaware and Fairfield counties together held 453 manufacturing establishments in 2023, more than half Franklin County's count. We aim campaigns at the buyers you sell to, wherever their plants sit.
