Digital Marketing Agency in St. Louis

St. Louis is three markets sharing one skyline. The 2023 County Business Patterns counted 8,468 employer establishments inside the independent city, 29,717 in St. Louis County and 8,946 in St. Charles County, and buyers on each side search, compare and hire differently. Commerce Media Group builds websites, runs search, social and LinkedIn advertising, and sets up lead capture and CRM follow-up for St. Louis businesses with those lines in mind, from Downtown and the Central West End out to Kirkwood, Chesterfield and St. Charles.

The St. Louis market

How the St. Louis market is wired

City and county, apart since 1876

The City of St. Louis describes itself as an independent city, part of no county, since voters approved the split in 1876. The two sides have moved in different directions since 2020: the city's population estimate fell 7.7 percent to 278,144 by July 2025, while St. Charles County grew 5.2 percent to 426,499 and St. Louis County held near 991,000. Separate licensing offices, separate permits and separate habits mean a single metro-wide campaign usually wastes money on one side of the line.

Hospitals, research and aircraft

BJC Health is headquartered in St. Louis with more than 48,000 caregivers and 24 hospital campuses, and its BJC HealthCare region partners with WashU Medicine, whose clinical practice counts more than 3,800 providers. In February 2026 Boeing named its St. Louis site the headquarters of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, with over 18,000 Boeing employees in the region. Selling into organizations of that size takes patient, well-documented B2B marketing.

Old houses, four real seasons

Of the city's 174,111 housing units, 100,811 date from 1939 or before (American Community Survey, 2020 to 2024 estimates), and the median St. Louis County home dates from 1969. Lambert's 1991 to 2020 normals add 4,433 heating degree days and 1,713 cooling degree days a year, and the local NWS office notes that a few thunderstorms each year turn severe with large hail. Roofers, HVAC firms and remodelers rarely run out of work here.

Industries we serve

Five industry groups we can plan for here, each with its own St. Louis page that uses local counts, rules and conditions.

Areas we serve

Campaigns and location pages we build for St. Louis businesses can cover these neighborhoods, suburbs and nearby cities:

  • Downtown St. Louis
  • Clayton
  • Central West End
  • Soulard
  • The Hill
  • Kirkwood
  • Webster Groves
  • Chesterfield
  • St. Charles
  • University City

Why businesses choose us

Commerce Media Group runs websites, advertising, lead capture and CRM under one roof and takes on work in many U.S. markets. Here, that means treating the city, St. Louis County and St. Charles County as different audiences, building B2B programs that can survive hospital and defense procurement, and judging results by phone calls, scheduled jobs and executed contracts rather than ad impressions.

Because the same team owns the site, the ads and the follow-up, a Webster Groves homeowner who calls from a search result and a purchasing manager who downloads a capability sheet in Chesterfield are both recorded, answered and traced to an outcome.

Questions and answers

Usually, yes. The city has been independent of any county since 1876, and the two differ a great deal: in 2023 the city held 8,468 employer establishments against 29,717 in St. Louis County. Licenses, permits and search habits differ too, so we build separate location pages and ad groups whenever a client serves both.

Yes. St. Louis is 24th on RTDNA's 2026 television market list, and preliminary September 2026 figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics put metro nonfarm employment near 1.44 million. A sensible first step is search and social, with streaming or broadcast added once reach becomes the limit.

Health care, dental, physical therapy and med spas; HVAC, roofing, remodeling and general contracting; manufacturing, aerospace suppliers and B2B firms; plus restaurants, breweries, salons and fitness studios. Each page uses local business counts and the Missouri or county rules for that field.

It sets much of it. January at Lambert averages 32.1 degrees under the 1991 to 2020 normals, a normal July has nearly 16 afternoons reaching 90, and spring storms bring hail. We move home service budgets ahead of each season and prepare storm response pages before they are needed.
