Healthcare Marketing in Charlotte
Charlotte patients can pick from large health systems headquartered or rooted in the city, so an independent clinic has to be the easier choice. We work with physician groups, specialty and urgent care clinics, dental and therapy practices and behavioral health providers across Mecklenburg County, building websites, search and social campaigns and patient communication that respect federal privacy guidance and make booking simple.
The Charlotte healthcare market
A health system headquarters city
Advocate Health, the parent of Atrium Health, is headquartered in Charlotte and reports nearly 174,000 teammates and 69 hospitals. Carolinas Medical Center, Atrium's flagship, has more than 1,100 physicians and providers and provides residency training for more than 300 physicians in 15 specialties. Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center holds Level II trauma verification from the American College of Surgeons and hosts a UNC School of Medicine campus. Independent providers recruit staff and patients in the shadow of both.
Revenue, coverage and demand
Health care and social assistance businesses in Mecklenburg took in more than $15.0 billion in the 2022 Economic Census, and the county had 804 offices of physicians in 2023. Census estimates put the uninsured share of Mecklenburg residents under 65 at 11.2 percent, rising to 14.2 percent inside city limits. Plain information about accepted plans, self-pay options and locations cuts down on calls that go nowhere.
A growing health workforce
Education and health services counted about 160,000 jobs across the Charlotte metro in September 2026, up 3.0 percent over twelve months in preliminary BLS figures. Growth brings new clinics and new competitors, and it also tightens hiring, so many practices end up marketing to job candidates as well as to patients.
What complicates the work
Tracking without exposure
HHS says regulated entities may not let tracking technologies disclose protected health information to vendors improperly. We configure analytics, pixels and forms so patient details stay out of ad platforms.
Referral and direct paths
Some patients arrive on a physician's referral, others straight from search. Separate pages for referring offices and for patients serve both groups without confusing either.
Bilingual patient access
With 17.5 percent of Charlotte residents Hispanic or Latino, Spanish service pages and intake forms can widen a practice's reach, as long as the front desk can serve those patients too.

Questions and answers
It can be, with care. HHS says covered providers may not let tracking technologies make impermissible disclosures of patient information to vendors, though a June 2024 court ruling vacated part of that guidance for public pages. We limit tracking on sensitive pages, keep health details out of analytics, and choose vendors that will sign a business associate agreement when one is required.
By being easier to choose: same-week appointments, clear insurance information, evening or weekend hours and a strong review profile. Patients often weigh convenience and responsiveness within a few miles of home or work, and a smaller practice can win on both.
Often, yes. About 17.5 percent of Charlotte's population is Hispanic or Latino, per Census estimates, and close to one in four people five and older use a home language other than English. Spanish ads only pay off if the landing page, phone line and front desk can serve those patients too.
